Pascal Kummert
Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Pascal Kummert founded Calvion in New York in 2017 and has 17 years of professional investing and trading experience. Previously, he was an Executive Director in the Interest Rates Products division at Goldman Sachs in London, where he specialized in cross-asset macro, specifically trading government debt and credit derivatives from European and Emerging Market countries, as well as global currencies, interest rate swaps and equities. Prior to this, he held a similar role as a Vice President in the Fixed Income Division at Morgan Stanley, where he traded bonds and credit default swaps of peripheral countries (Greece, Portugal, Italy, Spain and Ireland) during the European debt crisis. He started his career in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Management Division as an investment analyst for the Special Situations (SSF) and Real Estate Private Equity funds (MSREF). He grew up in South Africa, holds a Bachelor of Science in General Management from the European Business School in Germany, and studied Finance at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Ryan Munch
Founding Partner, Head of Trading and Quantitative Research
Ryan Munch joined Calvion in 2018 and brings with him over 18 years of trading experience from both buy and sell side firms. Previously, Ryan traded Technology, Media, Telecommunication, Internet equities and equity derivative products for both Citadel / Surveyor Capital and, most recently, Point72 Asset Management. On the sell side, Ryan was a Vice President in the Special Situations Equity Trading group at Barclays Capital and traded Technology stocks at Lehman Brothers. Ryan began his career in the Investment Banking Division of Lehman Brothers in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
Tyler Hurley
Chief Economist
Tyler Hurley joined Calvion in 2019 through the Calvion internship program, which included part-time investment team research support over the previous 3 years, since before Calvion’s first fund launch. Tyler’s research focuses on thematic macro analysis in developed and emerging markets. Tyler previously worked at Camden Asset Management focused on convertible arbitrage. He holds a bachelor’s degree from NYU in economics and finance.
